This is an additional option for emergency food relief in the Robson Valley, alongside the Valemount Food Bank, The Great Room and the McBride Food Bank.

We have received numerous shipments of food from @2ndharvestto and are looking forward to many more. This is delicious and nutritious food that is food that would have ended up in the landfill.

They have provided us with eggs, frozen chicken, frozen turkey, and frozen fish. We are so grateful to be receiving these great sources of protein that we can distribute to the folks in the valley in packages, through community organizations, and in prepared food at our soup and bun in McBride. A BIG thank you to Uncle Marks Kitchen for helping us store this food while we get our freezers up and running.

If you are in need of food or want to be part of getting it to people who need it, contact foodsecurity@rvcsbc.org and we will provide you with food and support in directing you to some great options in the Robson Valley. ❤

We are shining the light on our exceptional roster We are shining the light on our exceptional roster of valued employees with a new campaign called the 'RVCS Staff Spotlight.' 🔦

This week we would like to recognize our newest staff member, Rebecca! Rebecca has already proven herself to be an integral part of our team, taking her position as Food Security Coordinator to the next level. She has set up a variety of new services that benefit countless people in our community, including her Pantry Program and food rescue project that keeps hungry mouths fed and food from going to waste. 🥬🥦🍌🍉

While Rebecca's educational background is in Environmental Science and Biology, she's no stranger around the kitchen. Her passion for cooking and teaching were fostered from her work in the outdoor education industry, where she spent 12 years going on all sorts of adventures with youth. Much of that time was devoted to menu planning with limited resources; getting creative with food was a challenge Rebecca loved to take on and readily uses in her work today.

"I have been in the Robson Valley for the past two years and love seeing the all of the wonderful home cooks that share their creations skills at potlucks and events (when we were able to have them)," says Rebecca.

We appreciate you, Rebecca, and all that you do! 💚
