Children and Youth with Special Needs program
This program strengthens families and communities by bridging gaps between caregivers, professionals, and local services. They provide emotional support and practical strategies to help families manage the challenges of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder and other cognitive delays and diagnoses, while also educating schools, health providers, and social agencies about various conditions. Their work addresses cognitive and developmental needs by promoting strategies that support learning, memory, attention, and emotional regulation, ensuring children and youth have the tools to succeed in daily life. By coordinating resources and advocating for inclusive practices, they help create individualized plans that nurture strengths and mitigate challenges. This role fosters collaboration, raises awareness, and builds a more informed, supportive community for individuals living with FASD and other cognitive delays and diagnosis, and their families.
