The Community Outreach and Support Worker (COSW) will help individuals facing barriers to connect with appropriate services to access resources. Examples are, obtaining support to with municipal, provincial, and federal systems such as social assistance, immigration, legal aid, disability, housing and health needs.
The COSW provides client-centered and client directed support to vulnerable individuals (19- seniors) in developing independence in accessing community and social services in the Valemount Area. Support is focused on vulnerable clients who may be struggling with isolation, exploitation, mental health issues, and physical disabilities. The program goals are specifically to reduce isolation of vulnerable seniors and community members and ensure that this population has adequate access to existing community and social services.
